The 2 euro coin is a fantasy euro pattern coin of Alderney minted in 2004 by an unknown source.
The coin is bimetallic and measures 25.3 millimeters in diameter. An allegorical image of a seated Britannia with a shield and spear is featured in the center of the obverse, with the year inscribed below her. Around the coin's edge, in the outer ring, are two separate inscriptions reading "ALDERNEY" and "ESSAI PATTERN PROBE TEST", and six crowns. A group of seamen are depicted on the reverse, alongside the number "2", which signifies the coin's purported value. A total of 15,000 examples of this coin were produced, of which 5000 were struck in proof quality.
