The dependency of Alderney, one of the islands of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, does not currently use the euro, and there are currently no plans to introduce the currency to the dependency. However, in 2004, an unidentified source introduced a series of nine fantasy euro pattern coins which consisted of copper-plated steel 1, 2, and 5 euro cent coins, goldine 10, 20, and 50 euro cent and 5 euro coins, and bimetallic 1 and 2 euro coins.
