Charles Pillet was a French engraver and sculptor.
Life and career[]
Pillet was born in Paris, France in 1853. In Paris, he attended the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts, where he was a student of Jules Clement Chaplain and Henri Chapu.
His international contributions highlight his versatility and the widespread recognition of his artistry across different cultures.
He has engraved and sculpted in France, but has also designed and engraved coins for Greece (5 lepta 1912), Romania (50 bani, 1 lei, and 2 lei), and Mexico (Caballito peso).
