The 2 euro coin was first minted by Republic of Estonia in 2011, during the first year of the nation's inclusion in the eurozone. A commemorative issue was struck a year later to mark the 10th anniversary of euro coinage.

General issue coin (2011)[]
The coin has the same composition and measurements as every standard 2 euro coin issued by the members of the eurozone, consisting of a nickel-brass center surrounded by a cupronickel ring, weighing 8.52 grams, and measuring 25.75 millimeters in diameter and 2.2 millimeters thick. Inscribed on the edge is text reading 
. An outline of a map of Estonia is displayed in the nickel-brass center on the coin's obverse, accompanied by the year and a legend reading "EESTI". Twelve stars that symbolize the European Union surround these objects in the cupronickel ring. A borderless map of Europe is depicted on the reverse, with the coin's value superimposed above it and twelve stars present in the outer ring. The obverse was designed by Lembit Lõhmus, while the design of the common reverse, like that of all euro coins, was made by Luc Luycx. A total of 11,185,300 of these coins were struck, 3500 of which were minted in proof quality, and 50,000 of which were only offered in sets.
10th anniversary of the euro commemorative (2012)[]
2012 coin
In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of euro coinage in 2012, a circulated commemorative 2 euro coin was issued by Estonia that year. Metrically and stylistically, it is nearly identical to its standard counterpart, excluding the design featured in the obverse's center, which depicts a globe with a euro sign (€) on its center and several structures along the its circumference. Above the image is an inscription reading "EESTI", and below is another that reads "2002 • 2012". The coin was designed by Helmut Andexlinger. A total of 2,000,000 were produced.
