Wirtland is an internet-based micronation that was founded in 2008.
History[]
Wirtland was founded on August 14, 2008 as a public development and is mainly represented by its website, www.Wirtland.com.
During January 2010, Wirtland planned on acquiring land with the consent of Nauru. If successful, it would be the first case of peacefully forming a new country, making it potentially eligible for international diplomatic recognition, provided it meets the requirements of a "permanent population" under control of the government.

During 2009, Wirtland issued the "Wirtland Crane", a gold coin with a value of 10 ICUs and the "Silver Crane", a silver coin with a value of 2 ICUs.
