The 2 mark coin was a coin issued by the states of the German Empire from 1874 until 1914. The coin was equal to 2.00 gold mark.
The coin itself was composed of 11.1111 grams, 10 of which were silver. Most coins featured the Reichsadler of the German Empire on the reverse, with an exception of only a few coins. The obverse of the coin varied on its location and year of minting. Most coins displayed effigies of important leaders of the German Empire and its states, but occasionally, a coin would be minted with the coat of arms of the state or another design.
