The 20 franken coin was minted by Liechtenstein during 1930 and 1946.

History

The first 20 frank coin of Liechtenstein was minted in 1930. It was composed of .900 fine gold, had a mass of 6.4516 grams, a diameter of 21 millimeters, and a thickness of 1.25 millimeters. The coin was designed by Austrian artist, Ludwig Hujer. Displayed on its obverse was a portrait of Prince Franz I with the inscription, "FRANZ·I·FÜRST·VON·LIECHTENSTEIN". On the reverse was the coat of arms of Liechtenstein with the value and year of minting. A total of 2500 of these coins were produced.

During 1946, a second 20 frank coin was introduced. Like the previous coin, it was composed of .900 fine gold, had a mass of 6.4516 grams, a diameter of 21 millimeters, and a thickness of 1.25 millimeters. It was designed by Arnold Stockmann (1882–1963). Shown on the reverse was Prince Franz Joseph II and the year of minting. Displayed on the reverse was the coat of arms of Liechtenstein, the value, and the state title (FÜRSTENTUM LIECHTENSTEIN). Ten-thousand of these coins were produced.
