This banknote was issued during the Centennial of Philippine Independence in 1998 when the 11 new peso banknotes were issued. Made in Leipzig, Germany, the banknote has 21 security features including a hologram, making it difficult to counterfeit. Today, it is now worth more than 100,000 pesos. This commemorative banknote was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest legal tender note, until the record was overtaken by Malaysia's 600 Ringgit commemorative banknote issued in the year 2017 to commemorate Malaysia's 60th Anniversary of Independence and measuring at 370x220 millimeters.
