A silver reaal of Guelders.
The reaal was a name given to the real in the Low Countries. Gold (reaal d'or) and silver (reaal d'argent) reaals were introduced during the late 15th century, and initially had values of 50 and 8 stuivers, respectively. After 1521, the former of the two coins became worth 1½ Karolusgulden.
In 1799, a currency denominated in reaals was introduced on Curaçao, and continued to circulate until 1828.
