Roberto Mauri is an Italian engraver and medalist for the State Mint and Polygraphic Institute (IPZS) in Rome. He is notable for designing coins of various nations, many of which include the marks m, mauri, or R. Mauri.

Italy 50 eurocent nat — The Italian 50 euro cent coin

Mauri was born on July 19, 1949, in Rome. After graduating from the liceo scientifico, a type of secondary school in Italy, Mauri enrolled to the Scuola dell'Arte della Medaglia (School of the Art of the Medal) of the IPZS, where he studied intaglio and industrial design. In 1983 Mauri graduated from the facility, and worked briefly as an interior designer before being employed by the IPZS. He has worked in the mint's artistic studio and engraving studio, and has also studied micro-incision and the use of computers in designing and manufacturing cones. Mauri currently resides in Rome.

Mauri has designed coins for various countries, including Italy, San Marino, Uganda, and the Vatican City. His most famous work for Italy is the national side of the country's 50 euro cent piece, which features the Equestrian Statue of Marcus Aurelius at Capitoline Hill in Rome. Mauri also designed the commemorative 2013 Italian 2 euro coin of Giovanni Boccaccio (1313–1375) and various Italian non-circulating legal tender pieces of the lira and euro. For San Marino, Mauri produced designs for the 2010 2 euro coin of Sandro Botticelli (c. 1445–1510) and a handful of non-circulating commemoratives. For Uganda his works include circulating 200 and non-circulating 5,000 shilling pieces celebrating the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and for the Vatican they include a general issue 200 lira coin and some non-circulating commemoratives.
