The national side of Andorra's 1, 2, and 5 euro cent coins
Ruben da Silva Carpio was born in 1991 in El Pas de la Casa. He developed an early interest in comics, movies, and video games, which eventually inspired him to become an artist. After finishing secondary school, Silva Carpio studied game design at the Escola Municipal d'Art i Disseny in Vilanova i la Geltrú and conceptual art at the Escola Joso in Barcelona.
In 2013, Silva Carpio entered a design competition for the national side of Andorra's euro coins. His submission, featuring a Pyrenean chamois (Rupicapra pyrenaica) with a bird overhead and a mountain in the background, was selected by the Government of Andorra and subsequently utilized on the nation's first 1, 2, and 5 euro cent coins.
Silva Carpio has also won awards at La Massana Comic Contest and the Global Game Jam.
