The coin was composed of billon, and had a mass of 0.66 grams and a diameter of 14.5 millimeters. The coin's obverse featured a fasces, which was a symbol of the Helvetic Republic; it symbolized strength of unity. Above the fasces is a hat. Around the design is a legend saying, "HELVET: REPUBL:". The coin's reverse featured the value of the coin as well as its year of minting.[1][2]
