An official mint set was issued by the Republic of Zambia in 1968. It was produced at the Royal Mint of the United Kingdom and distributed by the Bank of Zambia. The set consists of five uncirculated pieces, including Zambia's first 1, 2, 5, 10, and 20 ngwee coins. It also came with a light green card bearing the word "ZAMBIA" and the date of issue, "16th JANUARY 1968". Each coin was originally wrapped in plastic, which in turn was enclosed within an envelope.
